GRAPEFRUIT, Pomelo in the Philippines, is some sort of a modern fruit because it is considered a hybrid of Pomelo and Sweet Orange. Called as part of "Seven Wonders of Barbados", Grapefruit is now largely produced in the US, followed by China, South Africa and Mexico.
Grapefruit is usually sour (although packed with Vital Nutrients) and in Costa Rica the fruits are cooked to remove the sourness, thereby making it sweet.
