NECTARINE, probably originating from China, is a variety of Peach and as with Peaches, Nectarines can be white or yellow, and clingstone or freestone (it looks more like an apple to this blogger based on the picture on your left). The word 'Nectarine' means sweet as nectar, and this is very likely the obvious origin of the name. In the US, California produces 95% of all the country's Nectarines.
